RERA broker card: fees, renewal, exam and how to check one

The Real Estate Professional Practice Card carries your BRN and is what makes brokering property in Dubai legal. Join a licensed agency, take the approved course, pass the exam at 75%, apply in Trakheesi.

How to get the card

Join a licensed brokerageThe card is issued against an agency holding a valid trade licence and ORN — you cannot hold it independently.
Complete the certified trainingAt a RERA-approved institute. Providers advertise AED 2,400–4,000 depending on format.
Pass the RERA examRegister through the DLD portal. The pass mark is 75%.
Apply in TrakheesiLog in, select the service, upload documents, wait for the reviewer, then pay the fee the system shows.
Renew before expiryThe same application. Let it lapse and you are practising unlicensed — that is what agencies get fined for.

What is a RERA broker card?

The Real Estate Professional Practice Card issued by the Dubai Land Department through Trakheesi. It carries your broker registration number (BRN) and is what makes it legal to broker property in Dubai. It is personal to you and tied to the brokerage you work for, so it is reissued when you change agency.

How much does a RERA broker card cost in Dubai?

The DLD publishes the exact amount inside Trakheesi when you apply. RERA-approved training providers and licensing consultants advertise AED 520 for a standard card (AED 500 plus AED 10 knowledge and AED 10 innovation fees), AED 5,020 for a valuer card, an exam at AED 700 plus small fees and VAT, and training between AED 2,400 and AED 4,000. Those are their published prices, checked 25 September 2026, not figures we found on a DLD page.

How do I renew my RERA broker card?

Through Trakheesi, before the card expires: log in, choose the renewal service, upload the current documents, get the application approved, then pay. Providers quote renewal at the same fee as issuance. Renewing late means practising unlicensed in the meantime, which is what agencies get fined for.

How do I check if a Dubai broker is licensed?

Ask for the BRN and check it in the Dubai Brokers portal at trakheesi.dubailand.gov.ae/dubaibrokers or in the Dubai REST app. A listing must also carry a Trakheesi permit number — no permit number, no legal advertisement.

What does it cost to license a brokerage, not just a broker?

The DLD's own service page lists the annual licence fee by activity: AED 5,000 for sales and leasing brokerage and other activities, AED 10,000 for exhibitions, owners' association supervision and valuation, AED 15,000 for leasing and management for others, AED 25,000 for development and AED 100,000 for a registration trustee, each plus an AED 20 knowledge and innovation fee.
